When the weather is good, we take the chance to bring the kids outdoor to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
Bukit Gombak Park is a relatively new park, and is great for younger kids, for the following reasons:
1) it's not too big, so their short legs wouldn't be tired (though there are upslopes and stairs)
2) it's easy to walk around with wide pavements and clear directions (no need for skate scooters or strollers)
3) there are 2 small playgrounds that are in close proximity(one in Bukit Gombak Park and one at Pavilion Park)
4) there is no sand or water play that would require change of clothes
5) playtime is approximately 1hr, so it's suitable as a short and easy outdoor trip before lunch or dinner
Suggested itinerary for a relaxing Saturday or Sunday evening with the kids...
5pm: Start off at Bukit Gombak Park playground
5.30pm: Walk 5 minutes to Pavilion Park playground
6pm: Proceed to nearby Hillion Mall (7 min drive) to cool down and have an early dinner
8pm: Home sweet home and a relaxed bedtime routine
What better way to end the weekend, than to have a relaxing outdoor adventure, followed by a good night's sleep for the tired kids!
Tips to get the best value out of this...
- There is a very small carpark at the entrance of Bukit Gombak Park (for about 20 cars). Hence, you might have to park at the nearby housing estate, if you are driving.
- There is a cafe at the entrance, called Whisk & Paddle, which serves up good food for adults and children. However, seating is limited, so if there's a crowd, you might want to proceed to a nearby shopping mall, where there are more F&B options.
