Here's one last Christmas activity for you to do with your kid(s): glitter art! (It can get a little messy, so parental guidance is advised!) 😄

First, print out a colouring page of choice. Although it's a Christmas activity, as you can see, my boys chose a picture of their favourite cartoon character, instead of a christmas tree or snowman. Our primary schooler decided to paint the picture so patiently and painstakingly!

Once the picture is coloured, apply glue (preferably with a fine tip) onto all sections of a certain colour (e.g. red). Then pour the same coloured glitter onto those sections. Remove the excess glitter by tilting the art piece onto its side and tapping it onto another sheet of paper. (You can then collect the excess glitter and reuse it or throw it away.) Repeat this patiently for all sections, until you have filled up all sections of different colours.

Our kids were very happy with their magically sparkling final products, and these art pieces make great center pieces or gifts if framed up! =)

Tips to get the best value out of this...

- For pre-schoolers, print out a coloured picture, so he/she doesn't need to colour it. Just add glitter to the coloured picture.

- Try to apply the glitter starting from the inside of the picture. So that when you tap out and remove the excess glitter, it will not mix with the other coloured glitter that is already on the picture.

- Patience is the key to getting a pretty and neat art piece!

- For easy clean-up, do this art and craft activity on a large piece of paper, newspaper or tray, so you can keep the excess and stray glitter confined within a space.
