Years ago, when I had baby #1, my mother helped to sun ikan bilis and blend it down into a powder to add to baby's meals. Fast forward to baby #2 some years later, there was no such hassle, thanks to the food powders from SG Homemade! Additionally, it was not just ikan bilis powder. There were other powders to flavour baby's bowls of porridge and soups, such as shiitake mushroom and prawn powders, much to the delight of baby's taste buds.
Even as baby grew up and developed more sophisticated taste buds as a pre-schooler, I am pleased to say that my pre-schooler is still very much satisfied with the soups flavoured with the different powders. While I have not tried using the powders for steamboat base, we have benefitted from using the powders and quick-cooking riceberry porridge, while traveling overseas with a toddler.
